About hosts Ellen and Riccardo

The owners of Posada de Rosas Garden Apartments are North Americans Ellen Hoffman and Riccardo Accurso. Both have lived for extended periods in Spain and are fluent in Spanish. Widely travelled, they know what travelers want and expect when away from home. After several years of searching for "the place" outside the U.S., in 2004 they went to Argentina for a winter vacation and ended up buying a home in Mendoza after being in the city just a few days.

They also operate Amazing Mendoza Tours, and can assist guests with visits to wineries, Andes mountain excursions, cooking classes, attendance at artistic and cultural events.

Ellen has served as a cultural guide for tours sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. As a free-lance travel writer, she has written two travel books and has had travel articles published in the Washington Post and numerous other national newspapers and magazines, and has contributed to many travel guidebooks.

Riccardo has travelled extensively and has lived in various foreign countries - Spain for three years, on the Greek Island of Skopelos for a year,and in London, Mexico, and India, as well as many other locations for shorter periods.
