Posada de Rosas - Your Boutique Inn in the Center of Mendoza, Argentina

About the Innkeepers

The owners of Amazing Mendoza Tours, Ellen Hoffman and Riccardo Accurso. The innkeepers of Posada de Rosas are North Americans Ellen Hoffman and Riccardo Accurso. Both have lived for extended periods in Spain and are fluent in Spanish. Widely travelled, they know what travelers want and expect when away from home. The inn aims to provide the kind of service you would find at home and in Europe--relaxed and comfortable, not stiff and formal, but always with high standards of quality in service and accomodations.

When not in Mendoza operating the posada, Ellen is a free-lance writer and Riccardo is an artist and jewelry-maker/designer. They also operate Amazing Mendoza Tours, and can assist guests with visits to wineries, Andes mountain excursions, cooking classes, attendance at artistic and cultural events, and opportunities to meet the locals.

Ellen has served as a cultural guide for tours sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. As a free-lance travel writer, she has written two travel books and has had travel articles published in the Washington Post and numerous other national newspapers and magazines, and has contributed to many travel guidebooks.

Riccardo had a brief tenure as a college professor (Reed College, 1968-70) which was abandoned in favor of a more adventurous career as a travelling artist. In that latter role, he had the opportunity to both live and work in Mexico, Greece, England, India, and Spain, where he lived for three years and where he met Ellen.
