Unlike country inns, these lodgings offer the advantages of comfort, privacy and surroundings of natural beauty--without having to depend on public transportation, hiring drivers or driving yourself in an unfamiliar environment to meals, shopping, errands or entertainment. Unlike anonymous hotels, they offer a homelike atmosphere with personal service by a caring, bilingual staff whose primary mission is to ensure that all our guests enjoy their stay in Mendoza.
The three studios, with their white facades, terra cotta floors and
arched windows, summon up visions of a Spanish town. The private
bathrooms are finished in Mendoza's local travertine marble,
with slate floors. Furnishings include custom-made wood closets, tables and chairs and cupboards.
Each room also has top-line King Koil beds that can be made up as twins or a queen, and a kitchenette with a sink and small refrigerator. Traditional ethnic textiles and other works of art adorn the walls, and some areas feature Mendoza's traditional cane ceilings. Studio windows directly overlook the garden, with its banana, orange and lemon trees, bougainvillea and other flowers; and the pool area.
The Posada has two rooms upstairs in the main house, each with private bath. One of the rooms has a third twin bed in an alcove that also serves as an inviting nook for reading and relaxing. The custom-built wood closet systems also include a writing desk where you can hook up your computer. These rooms feature original wood floors, and other design elements include traditional ethnic textiles and art objects.
The house offers a variety of spaces where all guests may choose to relax
either on their own, or in the company of friends, family and other guests. The first is the reception area. Lined with a series of banquettes,
this welcoming room has original art works,
a custom-designed and built wooden table with a base of wine barrels
that represent one of Mendoza's top attractions--the wine industry; and
an aquarium.
A few steps beyond the reception area, you enter a salon
with comfortable furniture, a flat-screen television and
entertainment options including music and games. This is a perfect spot to read a book, or share a glass of wine with other posada guests and get to know them.
Next comes the sunroom, with its working fireplace and views of the garden through a series of arched windows. This bright, cheerful venue is used for serving Continental breakfast and for special meals or events such as receptions or meetings. The adjacent kitchen, featuring a professional stove, is available for catered events.
If you want to celebrate a special occasion in Mendoza, we can arrange memorable events including a private, catered, candlelight dinner on the terrace, a barbeque with live Mendoza folk music, or a party or reception in the terrace and garden area for up to about 50 guests.
The sunroom opens onto the
ample terrace--an option for al fresco meals--with
its grape arbor and huge Argentine barbeque. The terrace overlooks a lawn and
garden whose three levels are defined by stone walls, and a pond with water
lilies. Lush vegetation, including bougainvillea and banana, orange, lemon and
cherry trees, surround the garden and the pool. The swimming pool, perfect for
cooling off on a warm day, has a deck area where you can relax, enjoy a cold
drink or snooze in the sun. At day's end, it's a nice spot to sip a glass of
Mendoza wine and watch the sunset.
